Our Policies:

It takes five paid enrollments to “make a class”. Twelve is the maximum per class. All classes must be pre-registered and prepaid. Payment in advance guarantees a spot in the class. Refunds are given only if a class does not make. Class fees are not prorated. A limited number of partial scholarships are available. Visa/MasterCard are accepted. It is suggested that you call before attending a class to be sure that it has made. During inclement weather, the studio will close if the Mid-Del School District is closed. Make-up classes/lessons are given ONLY if a class has been cancelled by the instructor or because of inclement weather.

 

Adults on the Wheel

Instructor: Karla Squires

Dates: Tues. Apr. 15-May 13

       (No class April 22)

Time:  6:30-8:30 p.m.

Ages:  15+

Cost:  $64 + $25 materials fee.

This six week class is for the beginner or intermediate potter.

You will learn or enhance basic throwing skills and will create pots, plates, and bowls on the wheel or a project of your own choosing.

 

Artistic Gourd Instruments-Shekeres

Instructor: Astrud Reed

Dates: Tuesday, May 13,

Time: 6:00-9:00pm

Ages: 11+

Cost: $24.00 + $9 material fee

Gourd musical instruments have been identified in every recorded ancient culture and are still used today in many forms throughout the world.

This multi-cultural class will focus on gourds as percussion instruments  where students will learn how to decorate and play this instrument.

Schools and music classes around the country now keep shekeres as a staple item – kids love them!

 

Ballroom Dance for Beginners

You may not be dancing with a star; but, your favorite partner will do just as well!

Join a professional dance instructor to learn the basic steps to the Fox Trot, Waltz and Swing.

Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended. No dance partner is required but is encouraged.

Note: Special arrangements can be made for private lessons. Cost will vary.

Belly Dance for Beginners

Instructor: DeAnn Lehenbauer

Dates:  Every Wednesday

New students accepted weekly

Time: 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Cost:  $8 per class OR

          $48 per 6 weeks

This class will cover the beginning movements and isolations as well as simple choreography used in traditional Middle Eastern dancing.

Drawing for Adults

Dream Keepers

In this gourd crafting class, students will learn how to use the Dremel Tool to make a beautiful gourd vessel with a dream catcher woven into the side.

Make a distinctive fused glass piece of jewelry with wire wrap in sterling silver.

Dichroic glass is one of the most popular glass types used for jewelry design.

 

Gourd Pine Needle Weaving

This gourd decorating class will focus on traditional gourd pine needle weaving.

Students will also learn about preparing a gourd bowl, and gourd decorating with paint, dyes and pyrography.

These elegant pieces are beautiful around the home and make very unique gifts!

 

Graphic Design: Photoshop I

Adults and teens explore the exciting world of Graphic Design while learning basic to professional skills using the Adobe Creative Suite.

This introductory class to Photoshop will teach you how to use some of the tools to do simple photo enhancement and manipulation.

This class continues Photoshop I emphasizing the use of additional tools and how to do color correction,

Huichol Beaded Bowls

The Huichol Indians from Central Mexico, an ancient culture founded on strict oral traditions,

have been using symbols in their colorful art for over 1,600 years to record their history.

Learn how to make a traditional design Jicara bowl from a gourd.

 

Introduction to Latin Dance

You should bring a brown bag lunch to provide nourishment for your body and we’ll provide the nourishment for your creative spirit.

Percussion Masters Class

This two day master’s class will emphasize techniques of playing percussion instruments.

Post Natal Yoga

This class is designed to balance and restore the physical needs of new mother and baby.
